APPLICATION:  Chemical Addition System (CAS) shown – Railroad application.

Customer washes down their locomotives to remove grease and grit, which are taken out of the waste stream using an Oil Water Separator (OWS), followed by a Chemical Addition System (CAS) and a Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) unit.  You can see the part of the Oil Water Separator to the right of the CAS tank.  System is in the installation process and includes:

  1. OWS tank to remove oils and grease, with automation to control a sludge and oil pump.
  2. CAS tank adjusts the pH of the water and establishes a large floc particle prior to the DAF.
  3. DAF tank to remove solids and further remove oils via a floating process.
  4. All tanks are in 304 stainless steel material with covers to contain vapors.
  5. Complete system provided.
  6. Start-up service included.

APPLICATION: Emulsion Cracking System (ECS)

Another Emulsion Cracking System complete and ready to ship.  This is the ninth (9th) ECS tank shipping to the same customer.  Customer has plants worldwide.  Tank includes:

  1. Mixers
  2. Chemical pumps
  3. pH probes in the initial and final chambers to automatically control the chemical pumps.
  4. System is fully automated, requiring little user interface.
  5. Start-up service included.

APPLICATION: Equalization tank

Customer uses an Equalization tank to temporarily store their water prior to processing it.  Tank is made in 304 stainless steel material due to elevated water temperature and has a 2,000 gallon capacity.

APPLICATION:  pH adjustment tank

pH adjustment tank through the fabrication, sandblast/primer process.  Finish product is the far-right picture.  This is one of twelve tanks custom built for the same customer.  Customer has production facilities throughout the world.

Chemical dosing pump cabinets

Westlake Environmental offers a series of chemical pump cabinet options

Cabinets are superior in design in that:

  1. Each pump is fully contained
  2. Each pump is in a housing that is resistant to sulfuric acid as well as caustic
  3. Front cover door is an acrylic or Lexan material that drops towards you when opened
  4. Each pump includes a dedicated electric disconnect switch
  5. Each pump has a series of isolation valves for quick servicing/removal of pump
  6. Pumps are offered in a series ranging from one to six enclosures

APPLICATION:  Inclined Plate Clarifier system for granite and stone fabrication plants

Our Solution:   Provide a single skid Inclined Plate Clarifier (IPC) system to remove solids from a waste stream.  System is ideal for granite facilities and stone fabrication plants.

System includes:

  1. Chemical Addition System and Inclined Plate Clarifier in A36 carbon steel material on a common skid for quick and easy installation
  2. AOD sludge pump as well as an AOD effluent chamber transfer pump
  3. Air assembly systems for both AOD pumps
  4. OSHA ladder and platform to witness the internals of both tanks
  5. Sludge auger to convey sludge to a common discharge point.  Very efficient system
  6. NEMA 4X control panel to control all electrical devices included with the system
  7. A series of 120V outlets for customer to control additional electrical devices

APPLICATION:  pH adjustment tank

Our Solution:   Provide pH adjustment tank prior to a Dissolved Air Flotation system to automatically adjust the pH of the water.

Tank includes:

  1. Tank is polyethylene material
  2. 16” inspection port and 2” drain
  3. Individual level switches for automatic transfer pump control
  4. pH control systems to monitor the pH of the water and automatically activate chemical dosing pumps
